Detroit Poetry Alert

June 7th, 2007 at 1:24 am CST by Jilly Dybka Posted in Blabbing, Poetry News |

21st Detroit Festival of the Arts — it’s over by Wayne State.

Friday - Sunday, June 8th - 10th, 2007

Friday: 4:00 - 11:00pm
Saturday: noon - 11:00pm
Sunday: noon - 9:00pm

I went there last summer & saw Thomas Sayers Ellis read and ate a Sander’s [pronounced Saunders haha] Hot Fudge Creampuff, which have become hard to find & are quintessentially Detroit. You should go if that is in your neck of the woods.

My friend Chris McCall, who I played in bands with when I was young and skinny haha, is going to be playing at the Festival: Saturday, June 9, 2007, 4:00 to 4:30 PM, Music and Literary Lounge Tent, corner of Cass and Putnam. (By the library and around the corner from the Detroit Institute of Arts.) Be there or be square.
