Blabbing
Darryl and I met with the surgeon yesterday. She didn’t give me a definitive surgery date yet but it will either be May 31st or during the first week of June. It will be at Centennial Women’s Hospital, as was the surgery I had in November. My hematocrit is .6 above the threshold for mandatory-transfusion-before-surgery, haha.
I didn’t know this before but my sister told me that back in the early ’90s she woke up for a few seconds during surgery. Gawd.
I’ll be recovering for 2 to 6 weeks, depending on how the Drs do the surgery — send me some analog mail:

I’m actually really looking forward to having the hysterectomy & getting back to feeling well. And I don’t feel guilty or less of a woman for being excited to have my womb taken out. So there.

I like your attitude! If you were in Portland you could attend our brunch on Sunday: the MoFo Brunch.

Less of a woman. Oh hell no! I think if I could get someone to take my uterus out so I wouldn’t have to worry about it I would seriously consider it.
Take care of yourself. We’ll miss you in the blogosphere!

Wish you luck on the operation. I wish I could get one. I tired the wild mood swings.

I’ve been wanting a reason to use my new stationery!
My mother had a hysterectomy recently. It was pretty rough the first week, but she recovered quickly after that and feels way better now.
