Poetry News For January 24, 2007

Posted January 24th, 2007 by Jilly Dybka

Poetry News:

  1. ‘Isotope’ gets $5,000 grant (yay! I loooove Isotope) —
  2. “The Lorca family cannot stand me”
  3. With history as his muse, a poet finds new voices
  4. Decision on Burns museum awaited
  5. The Waste Land: Declassified poetry from Guantanamo Bay
  6. 7 regional writers vying for book critics honors

My mom is in the hospital so any good wishes / prayers would be appreciated. Friday I drove to Chattanooga and picked up my aunt and we drove to Detroit to see my mom. (My aunt doesn’t like flying.) We drove back to Chattanooga Monday and on Tuesday I drove back to Nashville. Driving and crying — my eyes are like 2 piss-holes in the snow, as they say. I will probably be going back up there soon because I have to do some aftercare research up in Detroit. I need to find out about work and FMLA etc beforehand, though. I’ll post here if I’ll be on hiatus or whatever.

I’m very sad about the whole thing. :(

    Jilly:

Another Isotope fan! I was lucky enough to have been in that journal way back when they were known as ‘Petroglyph.’ Sadly, I haven’t had anything to submit to them in some time.
