Nashville Sounds
As visitors to this blog may have figured out, I’m a baseball fan. And big supporter of the Nashville Sounds, our local Triple-A minor league team. (Who won the PCL championship last year but the Nashville media doesn’t seem to give a crap.) I’ve had some sort of season ticket package (usually weekday games) for several years. NPR did a story today on their “Faith Night” promotions. I’ve never gone to one (not a Christian and usually those promos are held on nights that I don’t have a ticket, anyway). Link to the NPR story here. And there is a picture of our cool scoreboard.
I don’t think I’ll be able to afford season tickets at the new stadium. For the past few years my seat has been front row behind first base. Not going to happen in the new place.
Next Nashville Sounds-related link: The Chuck and duck blog. This is a new blog by Chuck Valenches, the radio play-by-play broadcaster for the Nashville Sounds.
And A Q&A.
Finally, I have some free baseball poetry here.
Last night’s game was a shut-out. We won 5-0. It was Thirsty Thursday–$1 beer. Not my favorite night to go because people get obnoxious sometimes. Indeed, in the last inning some people ran out onto the field. Durrrrr. The beer lady I always get a beer from (can’t remember her name–I’ll ask Tuesday) told me she got married and she showed me her beautiful new ring.
She went to her HS reunion this summer and saw the first boy she ever kissed, they hooked up again, and got married. Wow.
