As you may know (I’ve mentioned it before) my hometown has the (2nd?) largest population of folks with Middle-Eastern heritage, outside the Middle-East. So the 2 things I miss the most, I think, about Michigan are the Detroit Industry Murals by Diego Rivera at the Detroit Institute of Arts and GOOD MIDDLE-EASTERN FOOD! Well today on my way home I noticed a new Middle-Eastern restaurant and I can only hope they have good Lebanese-type hoummos. I will soon be gorging myself on falefel, hoummos, pita bread and fattoush. It would be pushing it to think they’d have jallab or a juice bar.

you ought to see if you can get a review copy of that bukowski book from the cruelestmonth blog and then write up a review to submit to three candles. ;-P
heck, you could probably get put on their poetry title review list.
let me know if that restaurant is good–and if it is, where it’s located.

My friend Scott the Bukowski expert, is not impressed with the new Bukowski book.
I’ll let you know about the restaurant. It is on Charlotte near DB Todd. On my way home from TSU.
Good luck Anne! That would be cool! The Nashville airport does a lot of local artist shows and has local musicians play gigs in the terminal. Darryl (hubby) has played jazz there a few times.
