So do you think this poem is racist, as has been interpreted here? I can think of a few poems with the P word — Plath, Bukowski … Macbeth. Philip Levine I bet.

I am sooo getting sick of political-correctness groupthink. Die Gedanken sind frei.

Why did you only link to a right-wing anti-PC site? They are equally guilty. Look at the way they try to demonize the word “liberal” or the use of the term “Islamofascism.”

I couldn’t find a left-leaning (which I am) article about it (which explains my objections to PCness). If you can find one, let me know and I will add it.

Isn’t linking to either a “right-wing” anti-PC site or a “left-wing” anti-PC site, or a “pro-choice” or a “pro-life” PC site — isn’t this what you are objecting to (sick of)?

Why not just link to the Wikipedia article groupthink:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupthink

which — although it might not be 100% accurate or was probably written/edited by people with biases, at least does what JMAC of the link you cited requests that we all do, in addition to critical thinking — which is to cite sources?

I was going to link to another site for the benefit of Greg & any other reader who felt the same way. I don’t really see things as right or left, but rather degrees of statism. So right and left nowadays are pretty much exactly the same thing.

I don’t like wikipedia very much, which is why I rarely ever give them a link. :)

No one answered my question: do you think that poem is racist?
