The new lit mag wants the poet to send them 8-12 poems never before seen on so much as a personal blog or simultaneoulsly to anyone else. I don’t want to start the whole “what is published vs. what is not published” argument, but seriously. I will never submit because I will never in my life have 8-12 pages of poetry I am willing to send there an not to any other place. That’s a tall order. I might have one or two poems about art laying around I am willing to send to them alone, but 8-12 poems having some conneection to visial art and on top of that not sending them anywhere else? Forget it. They may as well as me to submit my chapbook to a contest thy are holding under the condition that I pay their fee but not ever send it out to anyone else in case they want to reject it again in three years.
